“Iwobi Celebrates Stellar Debuts of Super Eagles Duo”

Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has commended two newcomers, Emmanuel Fernandez and Chibuike Nwaiwu, following their initial match for Nigeria.

The two defenders entered the field in the second half of Nigeria’s 2-1 friendly triumph over Iran in March, which took place in Antalya, Turkey.

Goals from Akor Adams and Moses Simon secured the victory for Eric Chelle’s team.

Reflecting on the encounter during a feature on the Alexander Yaa Digg podcast, Iwobi remarked, “Great to achieve the win. Kudos to Iran—they’re a robust, competent team.

“Also, credit to us, we managed to score the two goals we required. A shout out to the two centre-backs who participated in the second half on their debuts.

“They performed admirably—they were solid. It was a commendable display. We emerged victorious, and that provides us with a confidence increase.”
