The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has declared the selection of Akeem Ishola Busari as the new head coach of the Flamingos.
Busari takes over from Bankole Olowookere, who has been associated with the Flamingos for numerous years.
Olowookere guided the Flamingos to a third place finish at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals held in India.
Currently, Busari is the head coach of Pacesetters Queens of Ibadan, a team in the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL.
The Flamingos are set to confront either Niger or Guinea in the second qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup next month.
This competition will be hosted by Morocco later this year.
