“Balami’s Bold Promise: Transitioning 70% of Obidient Forces to APC, Praises Yilwatda!”

Comrade Isaac Balami, a notable leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and youth representative, has extended his congratulations to the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on what he termed a “remarkably successful and unifying” national convention.

In a declaration he personally endorsed, Balami also praised Yilwatda’s re-election, emphasizing that his selection through a consensus process at the APC’s 8th National Convention signifies increasing unity and internal stability within the ruling party.

The APC leader, in a sharply articulated statement, revealed plans to merge and transfer over 70 percent of the “Obidient” framework into the APC.

He explained that this action is part of a larger political reorganization aimed at consolidating youth support and fortifying grassroots frameworks in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Balami, who previously held the position of Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti presidential endeavor under the Labour Party, stated that his choice was motivated by what he called a “clear belief” in the leadership trajectory of the party and the current administration.

He further contended that the present government has, for the first time, fostered a sense of inclusion for minority ethnic groups in the Middle Belt, spanning both Muslim and Christian populations.

He emphasized that future presidential aspirants must prioritize inclusiveness, particularly for historically marginalized regions, if they aim to achieve widespread national acceptance.

Balami also urged members of the Obidient movement who might be uncertain about joining the APC due to public perceptions to take what he termed a “daring and realistic action,” insisting that political relevance must align with functional structures.

“As part of our dedication to national advancement, I am thrilled to declare the incorporation of a substantial segment of approximately 70 percent of the Obidient framework we developed over the years into the APC. This is a movement driven by millions of politically aware and exceptionally mobilized young Nigerians, now united with the Renewed Hope initiative.

“Throughout the Obi/Datti campaign, we showcased capacity, discipline, and outreach across both the North and the South. We did not merely make noise; we established a movement. That same enthusiasm, organization, and commitment will now be utilized within the APC to achieve an even greater national influence.

“For those who remain hesitant, I encourage you to consider the realities of our political landscape. Elections are secured not only through passion but by infrastructure, outreach, and strategic alignment. Where such frameworks are frail or absent, efforts, regardless of how noble, may not convert into electoral victories.

“If I, having made considerable personal sacrifices to cultivate that movement, can take this leap based on belief and clarity, then those who hold faith in the future we championed should not shy away from adopting a more viable route.

“President Tinubu, whom certain critics have misinterpreted, has demonstrated a readiness to be inclusive and to forge opportunities for young individuals and previously underrepresented groups. I speak not from assumption but from firsthand engagement and experience.

“In the upcoming weeks, we will amplify grassroots mobilization, especially throughout Northern Nigeria. What is unfolding is a tactical alignment that will transform political engagement among young individuals. The message is clear; the structure is robust, the movement is progressing, and the pathway to 2027 is already being firmly established.”

Balami expressed assurance that the integration of youth-driven political frameworks into the APC would greatly strengthen the party’s electoral capabilities, positioning it for a more decisive triumph in the forthcoming electoral cycle.
