“2027 Presidential Race: Saraki Shuts Down Speculations on Candidacy!”

Previous Senate President, Bukola Saraki has stated that it is just to permit the South to fulfill its 8 years of presidency.

Saraki articulated this remark on Thursday while responding to inquiries in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a show on Channels Television.

The ex-Kwara state governor made it clear that he would not be pursuing the presidency in 2027.

“I believe it is just to allow the South to carry out its 8 years. I was among those who endorsed that the PDP should allocate the presidency to the south in 2027.

“When the party convened last year to deliberate on the zoning of the presidency, I was part of those who advocated that the party should designate the presidency to the south in 2027, and to align with that and adhere to the party’s resolution.

“Recall, in 2023 the ultimate decision of the party was that candidates could emerge from anywhere.

“However, in the meeting we conducted regarding the 2027 election, we agreed that the presidency should be sourced from the south, and I comply with that, and thus, eliminated the prospect of me wishing to contest in 2027,” he commented.
