“Cattle Carnage: Duo Detained for Alleged Slaughter in Benue Community”

Security personnel have detained two suspects in relation to the slaughtering of cows and the seizure of meat believed to have been pilfered in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

Sources reported that the accused, recognized as Sylvester Kuman and Nyitor Akaangee, both hailing from Udei Village, were captured around 1:00 p.m. on March 22 after law enforcement acted on reliable intelligence regarding the event.

It was understood that the operation ensued due to reports of cattle being illicitly butchered in the vicinity, prompting a rapid reaction from operatives who tracked the suspects down.

During the operation, items thought to be cow meat were seized from them, bolstering suspicions regarding their participation in the incident.

Officials further disclosed that initial inquiries had begun to determine the precise conditions surrounding the deaths of the cows, including the ownership of the animals and whether this act formed part of a broader criminal syndicate.

In the meantime, law enforcement agencies have heightened efforts to capture other individuals who might have been involved in the occurrence, as investigations persist.
