Tragedy Strikes Taraba: Fulani Herdsmen Attack Claims Lives of Four Civilians and Three Officers



A devastating assault has been reported in the Tor-Damisa locality, Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State on Wednesday, following an incursion by armed individuals believed to be Fulani herdsmen.

NAIJATAB learned that the armed herdsmen stormed the area Wednesday evening, firing indiscriminately before being confronted by officers of the Taraba State Police Command.

A violent exchange of gunfire reportedly occurred between the attackers and the security forces, resulting in the demise of at least seven individuals.

Sources acquainted with the event informed our correspondent that three police personnel and four civilians were brutally slain during the lethal assault.

The strike has incited fear within the community, causing some inhabitants to escape to surrounding areas.

Attempts by NAIJATAB to obtain a statement from the Taraba State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer, Lasheh James, did not answer his calls.

He also failed to reply to text messages sent to him up to the time of this report.
