Former Bayern Munich icon, Franck Ribery, has identified the Bundesliga powerhouses as the top contenders to secure the UEFA Champions League title this season.
Ribery made these statements prior to Bayern Munich’s Champions League Round of 16 return match against Atalanta on Wednesday.
According to the Frenchman, the Bavarians are remarkably formidable and are in peak condition.
“I can confidently say, yes,” Ribery told La Gazzetta dello Sport when questioned if Bayern Munich are the frontrunners.
“Bayern is not only remarkably powerful but also in excellent form. In my view, they are the leading contender to clinch the Champions League.”
Bayern Munich overwhelmed Atalanta 6-1 in the first leg last week in Italy.
