6 Bible verses about waiting on God

As individuals, we tend to be impatient.

And it is rather easy to comprehend – God exists in eternity, whereas we contend with time.

However, Isaiah 40:31 states “those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall soar with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be fatigued; they shall walk and not grow faint.”

We beseech God and anticipate a response immediately. When He does not reply, we declare that there is no God.

We overlook that the Scriptures are filled with faithful individuals who persisted and held on, despite their challenges, like Job, Abraham, and others.

Clinging to their beliefs, even when it appeared futile and meaningless.

Romans 8:25 – “But if we hope for what we cannot see, we wait for it with perseverance.”

We are also urged to hold firmly to the following Scripture passages as we await, patiently, while exalting Him in the hallways.

  1. Romans 12:12 – “Rejoice in hope, be steadfast in affliction, be devoted in prayer.”
  2. Psalm 27:14 – “Wait for the Lord; be courageous and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
  3. 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow in fulfilling his promise, as some perceive slowness. Rather, he is patient with you, desiring that no one should perish, but that all should attain repentance.”
  4. Exodus 14:14 – “The Lord will defend you; you need only to remain calm.”
  5. Isaiah 30:18 – “Yet the Lord desires to be gracious to you; therefore he will arise to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!”
  6. 2 Peter 3:8 – “But do not overlook this one fact, dear friends: With the Lord, a single day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”
