Eduardo Luiz Saverin was born in the metropolis of São Paulo to an affluent Jewish Brazilian lineage, and his family subsequently relocated to Rio de Janeiro.
In 1993, the family emigrated to the U.S., establishing themselves in Miami
Saverin enrolled at Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami. He then pursued studies at Harvard University, where he was a resident of Eliot House, a member of the Phoenix S.K. Club, and the president of the Harvard Investment Association.
