JUST IN: Fire destroys scores of shanties in Ebute Meta, Lagos

Numerous shanties have been engulfed by flames in the Ondo-Ibadan vicinity of the Okobaba sawmill, Ebute Meta, Lagos State. The blaze reportedly ignited in one of the structures but rapidly spread throughout the community. Attempts by firefighters and locals to extinguish the flames have not produced any outcomes as of the time this report was filed. An observer informed reporters that residents of the area gathered en masse to combat the fire. The origin of the blaze remains unidentified at the time this report was compiled. Nonetheless, occupants of nearby buildings have started evacuating their belongings.

Breaking: Fire razes Kogi Assembly building

Flames have destroyed the Kogi State House of Assembly building in Lokoja, the capital of the State. Reports indicate that the early morning blaze severely damaged the flooring of the structure via the ceiling of the Chamber. As per PUNCH, an anonymous source mentioned that he suspected an explosion, but could not identify who might be culpable. The Assembly's Speaker, Mathew Kolawole, expressed his belief that it may be an act of sabotage. Nevertheless, Kolawole was unable to specify the potential origin of the suspected sabotage.
