“Political Shake-Up: Former Lawmaker Eta Mbora Bids Farewell to PDP”

Previous House of Representatives member, Eta Mbora, has affiliated with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), contributing to the increasing number of former federal legislators aligning with the party.

Mbora, who represented the Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency during the 9th Assembly, declared his switch on Thursday in Calabar.

He attributed his choice to the persistent internal turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), indicating that the situation has consistently undermined the party’s framework.

He acknowledged that departing from the PDP was not a simple choice, but stated it had become essential due to recent changes.

“I remain thankful to the PDP for the chances it granted me to serve at the local government, state, and national tiers,” he remarked.

Mbora also expressed gratitude to his supporters and associates for their unwavering allegiance over the years and encouraged them to accompany him in the ADC, especially by engaging in the party’s ongoing registration and revalidation initiative in their respective wards.

His defection is part of a larger wave of political transformations in Cross River State in anticipation of the upcoming election cycle.

This trend follows recent actions by former governor Liyel Imoke and former senator Gershom Bassey, who have also transitioned to the ADC.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway by the party to organize a reception rally in honor of Mbora and other recent members.
