During his senior year, he led his team to their third consecutive NC 4AA State Championship, with this team achieving the top ranking in the entire state of North Carolina.
Moreover, he participated in three games as a tight end for the Wolfpack in 2016, concluding his debut season with six receptions and a touchdown, totaling 49 yards. He was one of three true freshmen to start a game for the Pack that year. Additionally, he was a four-star prospect in 2016, receiving offers from over 23 universities, including Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, and USC. He became the second player from a Power Five conference to transfer to LSU. Unfortunately, he missed the 2018 season due to a foot injury that required two surgeries.
