
Assets valued in millions of naira have been obliterated due to a blaze that consumed a residential structure and shop in Oyo State.
The two occurrences took place in Ibadan on Sunday.
The residential structure is situated adjacent to C.A.C Oke- Ayo, Idi- Obi Junction, Agugu Area in Ibadan.
Assets worth millions of naira were impacted.
No injuries were reported during the event.
Chairperson of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande, when reached, verified the incident.
Akinwande in a statement provided to NAIJATAB on Sunday stated, “Upon arrival, we discovered a five-bedroom apartment on the upper floor of a multi-story residential building fully ablaze and enveloped in dense smoke.
“We promptly sprang into action and contained the fire from escalating.”
Akinwande also validated the second occurrence.
He mentioned that the shop located at No C12, Ajomole Compound Olukoyi Street, Oja Oba in Ibadan was devastated by flames on Sunday.
He remarked, “Upon our arrival, we encountered a prefab shop fully engulfed in flames and shrouded in thick smoke.
“Our personnel swiftly executed a coordinated assault and prevented the fire from extending to the neighboring shops.”
