Harry Rodger Webb, later recognized as Sir Cliff Richard, was born in Lucknow, India, on October 14, 1940. He was brought up by Rodger Oscar Webb and Dorothy Marie Dazely. His father worked as a caterer and contractor for Indian Railways. After the turmoil on Direct Action Day, his family relocated permanently to England. Prior to moving to Chestnut Secondary Modern School, Richard attended Kings Road Junior Mixed Infant School.
