Super Eagles Surge: Nigeria Intensifies Pursuit of Brentford’s Kayode Following Chelle’s Green Light

Nigeria’s efforts to persuade Italian youth international, Michael Kayode, to change his allegiance to the Super Eagles is gathering substantial traction.

As mentioned by ViolaNews, high-ranking members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are preparing an in-person discussion with the Brentford full-back, having received the endorsement of head coach Eric Chelle.

Kayode’s remarkable advancement in the Premier League has not gone unnoticed, and Nigeria is keen to act swiftly before Italy includes the 21-year-old in their senior team.

Per the latest information, NFF representatives intend to negotiate with Kayode to present a definitive pathway into the Super Eagles roster.

The timing is crucial, as Kayode has not yet earned a senior cap for Italy, even though he has participated in their youth squads.

He has played for Italy at U18, U19, and U21 levels, and he has previously confessed that representing the Azzurri is his “primary aspiration.”

Kayode, who was recently omitted from Italy’s senior roster by coach Gennaro Gattuso for the March European World Cup qualifiers, was born in Borgomanero, Italy, to Nigerian parents, Victoria and Anthony.
