“Step Down or Face the Consequences: ADC Issues Ultimatum to INEC Chief Prof. Amupitan”

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has urged the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Joash Amupitan, to step down without delay.

The party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark, made this demand during a global press briefing held in Abuja on Thursday.

In his address, Mark urged President Bola Tinubu to dismiss the INEC chairman should he choose not to resign, asserting that Amupitan has demonstrated he lacks the capability to oversee a satisfactory election in 2027.

He remarked, “We insist on the prompt resignation or removal of the INEC chairman. We call upon Professor Amupitan and all of his national commissioners to resign without delay.

“Our trust in them has been completely eroded. We firmly believe that they are unable to oversee any trustworthy election.”
