2Baba Biography and Education
Originating from Jos, Nigeria, 2Baba is part of the Idoma ethnic group located in the southern region of Benue State, in central Nigeria. He attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue state.
After completing his Secondary School Education, he relocated to Enugu state where he pursued a preliminary National Diploma course in Business Administration and Management at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.
Throughout his academic journey, 2Baba engaged in performances at shows and events in IMT and other nearby institutions such as the University of Nigeria and Enugu State University of Science & Technology. While at IMT, 2Baba composed and performed jingles for the GB Fan Club at Enugu State Broadcasting Services (ESBS) in 1996. In 1996, he adopted the performance name “2Face” (Tuface). In 2016, he officially rebranded from Tuface to 2Baba.
2Baba Plantashun Boiz
2Baba was the frontman of the now-defunct group known as Plantashun Boiz. Upon moving to Lagos, 2Baba connected with two other gifted artists with whom he would form his band. Together with Blackface (Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo) and musician Faze (Chibuzor Orji), he established the trio band Plantashun Boiz.
Regrettably, the band’s cohesion could not endure, resulting in the disbandment of Plantashun Boiz in 2004. The trio released two successful albums, Body and Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003) under Nelson Brown’s label (Dove Records). Following their split, the group reunited to produce their final album together titled Plan B.
