Cynthia Obianodo Obi-Uchendu is a Nigerian businesswoman, fashion creator, and influencer who became notable as the originator of “Something Labelled,” a bridal apparel label. Additionally, she is recognized as the spouse of Big Brother Naija presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Early Life and Background

Cynthia originates from Anambra State and was born into the distinguished Obianodo family. Her father, Chief Vincent Amaechi Obianodo, is a prosperous entrepreneur and founder of The Young Shall Grow Motors and Rockview Hotels. Her mother, Ifeoma Evelyn Obianodo, passed away in 2017. Cynthia grew up alongside four brothers: Obiora, Kenechukwu, Chiedozie, and Chukwuka.

Education

She was enrolled at Corona Secondary School in Ogun State prior to relocating to the United Kingdom for her tertiary education. In 2011, she obtained a degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Hertfordshire.

Cynthia’s professional path began as an HR Manager at her family’s hotel business, Rockview Hotels. Nevertheless, her fervor for fashion inspired her to establish “Something Labelled” in 2017—a bridal fashion venture providing elegant wedding dresses for purchase and rent. She shared that the brand was motivated by the significant interest in her own wedding attire post-marriage.

During an interview, Cynthia remarked, “Following my wedding, I received numerous inquiries from individuals wanting to rent or acquire my dress. That’s when I realized I had something extraordinary.”
She also attributes her HR experience as beneficial in managing the everyday challenges of entrepreneurship, stating it equipped her to engage with diverse individuals.

Cynthia and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu exchanged vows on 6 February 2016, having become engaged in April 2015. Their romance is said to have initiated on Twitter, where Ebuka first contacted her with a New Year message in 2014. The couple now has two daughters: Jeweluchi, born in 2016, and Irubinachi, born in 2019.
