Nigerians can now verify their Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) utilizing their mobile devices.
The BVN was established by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a component of a unified Biometric Identification System.
Each holder of a bank account is assigned a distinct number comprising 11 digits.
Nigerian financial institutions mandate this code to enroll new customers in their databases.
You may have multiple bank accounts, but only one Bank Verification Number will represent all of them.
All your financial data will be linked to it.
How to verify BVN: There are two approaches to obtaining your unique 11-digit number. The first involves using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access.
However, if you are pressed for time, you can quickly utilize your phone to access the Bank Verification Number.
- How to verify BVN on MTN with your phone: If your service provider is MTN, simply dial the USSD 5650#, the code for BVN. In no time, your unique eleven digits will appear on your phone screen. Please note that this service incurs a fee. The carrier will charge you up to 20 Naira for this.
- The code for checking BVN on Glo: If you use Glo as your mobile service and wish to learn how to verify BVN via phone, ensure there are sufficient funds in your mobile account. A minimum of 20 Naira will be required for the inquiry. Use your device to dial 5650#, which serves as the BVN code.
- The code for Airtel: If you are an Airtel user, the identical code, 5650#, will assist you in obtaining the required digits. You will receive the number shortly after submitting the request. Up to 20 Naira will be deducted from your mobile account for this inquiry.
4: The code for Etisalat (9mobile): If your provider is Etisalat (now 9mobile), you will face no difficulties here either. Just dial 5650#. Wait for your number to appear on your device’s screen. Charges will apply for this service. It is advisable to have at least 20 Naira in your mobile phone balance.
The universal code to verify BVN 5650# can be utilized across Nigerian mobile operators, including MTN, Etisalat, Airtel, and Glo.
