As per reports, Mary Fanto served as the Casting Producer for the Great American Baking Show. She was also involved with the casting team for the Great American Show: Holiday Edition on ABC. Following her passing in December 2019, she was celebrated at the conclusion of the episode.

I lost an old companion last week. Mary Fanto – one of the most radiant souls I have ever encountered. We met around 1994 in LA and quickly became close friends. Witty, cheerful, playful, always ready for any escapade, and incredibly intelligent. So many delightful moments, Big Bear, San Francisco, yoga, hiking, and mostly just having fun together. When I departed LA, our conversations became infrequent, yet she remained a part of my life’s tapestry, and I thought of her often. I am deeply saddened that she is no longer here, but I am grateful that I was fortunate enough to share some time with this remarkable spirit. I will miss you dearly. What a wonderful reminder for us all – please make that call – send that message – connect with those you cherish. Aunt Mary, you were one of the most amazing individuals to ever know, and now you are gone. But I know you are up there with Mamie, Prissy, Sassy, Pete, and Snoopy. Take care of Mamie and the four little furry ones up there and say hello to them for me. It was when I was just ten years old that I first got to visit California; it was the most incredible trip ever, and the best memory of you that I will cherish forever in my heart. You will be profoundly missed.
