In the year 2017’s Season 5 of The Curse of Oak Island, it was disclosed that Drake Tester had passed away at the age of 16.
The Grand Rapids, Mich. native was honored in his community as an individual with a “constructive mindset.”
Upon the announcement of Drake’s demise, it wasn’t immediately apparent what had caused the teenager’s passing.
Subsequently, it was uncovered that he had struggled with a seizure condition since birth, experiencing severe seizures every few years.
Drake is survived by his parents, Craig and Becky Tester, along with siblings Jack and Madeline Begley. He was part of the cross country team and also participated in his high school’s choir. He had intentions of returning to the show in the summer of 2017 but was evidently unable to do so.
In the two episodes of The Curse of Oak Island featuring Drake, he assisted his father and the Lagina brothers in attempting to unravel the enigma of the Money Pit. The Money Pit is an underground site on the island that is primarily submerged in water, and it is thought to be a location rich in treasures.
