Numerous individuals have utilized social media to enhance their lives; however, it seems others exploit it and even exhibit the audacity to share a video of another person being assaulted.
Hannah Buchholz went viral on social media for reportedly posting a video of a helpless teenager known as Jacob Gunderson being assaulted.
As per reports, on May 21st, 2020, several Snapchat videos emerged online, depicting a defenseless and inebriated teenager named Jacob Gunderson being beaten for hours, accused of stealing drugs.
The report disclosed that the female who uploaded it was identified as Hannah Buchholz.
In the videos that subsequently spread widely, Hannah Buchholz was observed using derogatory terms while she incited the assault throughout the duration of the recording.
At one point, she even went so far as to partake in the attack, showcasing her bloodied hand.
The video has provoked significant reactions from social media users.
Jacob Gunderson Assault
According to the petition filed on Change.org, it stated, “Hannah Buchholz employs racial slurs while she incites the assault throughout her recording.” She even went as far as to join in the beating as well. The petition asserted that she “was released merely on a probation infraction.” Simultaneously, everyone involved in the incident faced consequences.
A GoFundMe Page for Jacob Gunderson
Following the assault on Jacob, he was barely conscious when he was ejected from the vehicle where he was left for his grandmother to attend to him.
To support Jacob and his family in covering his medical expenses after being taken to the hospital, a GoFundMe page was established in his name. On May 24, “JusticeforJacob” became one of the leading trends on the popular micro-blogging site, Twitter.
The GoFundMe aimed to collect $5,000 but ended up raising more than double the initial target.
Hannah Buchholz to Face Charges
Since the assault, there have been demands to prosecute Buchholz as an adult for her failure to intervene during the beating.
Prior to this, a local news source WEAU reported that an unidentified minor involved has been referred to a juvenile court.
The reports, however, have identified the minor as Hannah Buchholz.
Hannah Buchholz Utilizes N-Word
According to Jacob’s mother, Becky Gruber, she remarked that witnessing the violence her son endured was the most horrifying experience imaginable. She added that no individual should ever treat another in such a manner, regardless of the situation. The mother assured that justice would be pursued through peaceful means.
Gunderson was present at the game but was not permitted to speak publicly.
While reports claimed he is recuperating from his injuries, which fueled speculation of brain damage, his father, Tom Gunderson, has dismissed such claims.
However, Hannah Buchholz in a recent statement through her Instagram account declared that the address shared on social media claiming to be hers is FAKE.
In her statement, she mentioned that she is of mixed heritage and also revealed she would be deactivating her Instagram account, having already deactivated her Facebook account.
Gunderson’s Passing
The latest report from rhielfuneralhome has disclosed that Jacob T. Gunderson passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at All Saints Hospital in Racine.
