One of President Muhammadu Buhari’s offspring, Fatima Buhari, has been in the media in recent hours following her induction as a member of the board of trustees of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN).
As per the reports, the ceremony occurred recently at ANAN House, Abuja, and besides Fatima Buhari joining the board, 17 other individuals were also welcomed into the institute.
Iliyasu Gashinbaki, currently the president of CIFCFEN, stated that Fatima Buhari entered the board with extensive knowledge acquired over the years from both public sector roles and international organizations.

Fatima Buhari was born on March 7, 1975, to Muhammadu Buhari and Sefinatu Yusuf, who is known as the first wife of the president.
According to the records, Fatima’s mother, Sefinatu Buhari, was born on December 11, 1952, and belonged to Fulani lineage. Sefinatu’s ancestry can be traced back to the late Shehu Usman Danfodio, who was the leader of the 18th-century jihad that resulted in Sharia law being established in the northern region of the country.
The records indicate that Sefinatu was born in Jos, Plateau State, to the late Alhaji Yusuf Mani and the late Hajia Hadiza Mani on December 11, 1952.
