His complete name is Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, and he was born on June 25, 1962, in Lagos state. He is a Nigerian attorney, affiliated with the All Progressives Congress APC, and the current Speaker of Nigeria’s 9th House of Representatives.

Femi Gbajabiamila has been part of the House since 2003 when he was elected as a representative of the 

Surulere I constituency of Lagos State within the House of Representatives.

The Lagos born politician secured the speaker position in the 9th National Assembly House of Representatives, accumulating 283 votes compared to his contender Mohammed Umar Bago, who ranked second with 78 votes.

Femi Gbajabiamila’s parents were Lateef and Olufunke Gbajabiamila. He attended Mainland Preparatory School for his primary education and later moved on to Igbobi College in 1973 for secondary schooling.

The Nigerian Speaker subsequently enrolled at King William’s College located on the Isle of Man, in the United Kingdom for his A-Level, and was later accepted into the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) in 1983 and was called to the bar in 1984.
