PZ Cussons appoints two new non-executive directors



Mallam Ballama Manu and Mrs. Oluwatoyin Odutayo have been selected as Independent Non-Executive Directors by the Board of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc.

As per a statement endorsed by Jacqueline Ezeokwelume, the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, the appointments took effect on November 21, 2022.

Both of the newly appointed individuals are experienced experts with extensive backgrounds across various sectors. Review their biographies below.

Profile of Mallam Ballama Manu

At Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Mallam Manu earned a first-class (honours) degree in accounting. He was also awarded an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

He previously served as the Acting President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (now known as Nigerian Exchange Group Plc).

Ballama Manu has held roles on the boards of both Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation and Union Bank Plc. He currently holds the position of chairman and chief executive officer at Sicom Capital Services Limited.

Profile of Mrs. Oluwatoyin Odutayo

According to the PZ Cussons announcement, Mrs. Odutayo is a strategic and forward-thinking leader in technology, possessing over 30 years of comprehensive experience in technology strategy and digital transformation.

She founded Benchmark IT Services and Applications Limited and currently acts as the managing partner of the firm. Previously, she held the position of Executive Director responsible for Technology at Wakanow Limited, where she played a significant role in developing Nigeria’s premier technology platform for travel sales.

While serving as the lead for information technology at Virgin Nigeria Limited and Oando Plc, she formulated and implemented IT strategies for growth and enhanced efficiency.

Mrs. Odutayo holds degrees in business administration from the Cranfield School of Management, a distinction in information systems engineering from London South Bank University, and an honours degree in computer science from the University of Lagos.
