Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Personal Life
Michael, her sibling, was tragically killed in 2014. Before his untimely death, he served as the coordinator general for the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation, which provides aid to individuals in Nigeria. He was also the director of the Africa Institute for Leadership Research and Development and the consul general for Malawi in Nigeria. Her mother, Dorothy Chinyere Anyiam-Osigwe, received the Officer of the Order of the Niger award from Olusegun Obasanjo, the then president, for her philanthropic works in Nigeria. She reportedly passed away at St. Nicolas Hospital, Lagos, after being in a coma since Saturday.
While colleagues and close friends who visited her in the hospital could not accept the news of her passing, insisting that she was merely in the ICU, notable filmmaker Zik Zulu announced the sad news.
“Our President, Peace, has departed. As of Saturday, she was reported to be in a coma at Saint Nicholas. But now, her family has verified her transition. May her memory be a blessing. Rest in peace, dear Peace,” he posted on a Nollywood platform.
Award-winning producer, Obi Emelonye, also confirmed her passing on his social media platforms, even though the family sought to be discreet in releasing the information.
This dedicated woman will be remembered as one of those who transformed the landscape of modern Nollywood, as her contributions to the industry cannot be overstated.
