The Kuwait cabinet has stepped down following conflicts with the opposition-controlled parliament.
Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf al-Ahmed Al-Sabah presented the cabinet’s resignation to Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday.
The resignation was prompted by a stalemate between the executive and the legislative bodies, as stated by the cabinet, without further details.
Parliament was set to meet on Tuesday.
The departing cabinet, which took the oath in October, was the sixth formation within three years in Kuwait.
In September, Kuwait conducted its sixth election in a decade, establishing an opposition-led parliament. (Xinhua/NAN)
