The late Bradley Nowell entered the world on February 22, 1968, in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, California. The group was established in 1988, with Bud Gaugh as the drummer and Eric Wilson as the bass player. Even prior to forming Sublime, Bradley had already performed in several other bands.

The first album Sublime released was titled “Jah Won’t Pay the Bills” in 1991. A year later, they followed up with their second album, “40oz”, which gained tremendous acclaim and sales at the time. In the same year, 1992, they released another remarkable album titled “To Freedom,” which achieved two platinum certifications in the United States and reached No.140 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their subsequent album, released in 1994, was named “Robbin’ The Hood,” which was also successful and garnered a gold certification in the US.

After Bradley’s passing, Sublime released one final self-titled album. This album became their most significant success, attaining more fame than their prior releases. It also reached No.13 on the American Billboard 200 chart.

Prior to meeting Troy, Bradley was already grappling with substance addiction and attempting to escape his dark phase. Tragically, on May 25, 1996, just a week after their wedding, Bradley was found deceased at the Ocean View Motel in San Francisco due to a heroin overdose. At that time, he was with his band, as they were on a five-day tour through Northern California, followed by stops in Europe and the East Coast.
