Who is Bloody Civilian – Biography, Songs, Real Name, Age, Wizkid Favorite Artiste

Bloody Civilian (Emoseh Khamofu), born in 1998 (25), is a Nigerian vocalist, lyricist, and music producer affiliated with 0207 Def Jam, the UK division of Def Jam Recordings. She is primarily recognized for her two singles, “How To Kill A Man” and “Wake Up,” featuring Rema, which appeared in the soundtrack of the American superhero film Black Panther (2022). Her partnership with ODUMODUBLVCK on “Blood on the Dance Floor” has also contributed to her fame. Recently, Wizkid tweeted that she is one of his favorite artists, leading to a significant surge in her social media following due to the tweet.

Early Life And Biography

Originally from Taraba State, Emoseh’s upbringing in the northern region of Nigeria, nestled between Kaduna, Jos, and Abuja, greatly influenced her. Raised in a traditional household, her parents restricted her movements.

As a teenager, Emoseh was well-known at school for her ability to sing and play the guitar, frequently participating in talent contests where she performed original songs that her peers picked up quickly. Subsequently, she began crafting beats and distributing them to fellow students who rapped. Through this process, she gradually honed her distinctive musical style and enhanced her production skills. Those who knew Emoseh during her childhood believed she simply enjoyed music as a pastime, except for her father, who aspired for her to study music academically.

At eight years old, she began composing songs, which she often shared with her parents. Emoseh credits her father, a former musician who traveled and played in a band, for laying the foundation of her early musical journey. Growing up in a region plagued by military conflict in northern Nigeria led to her nickname “Bloody Civilian.”

CAREER IN MUSIC

Initially, Bloody Civilian operated as a record producer, crafting mixes and beats for both herself and other musicians. However, she stepped into the music scene around 2022 after the success of her hit “How To Kill A Man.” Her international acclaim continued to grow following the writing and production of the soundtrack “Wake Up” featuring Rema for Black Panther Wakanda Forever. She has since released other successful tracks such as “I Don’t Like You.” She received a nomination for the “Rookie Of The Year” category at the 2023 Headies Awards.
