DJ Ashba: Life Story and Early Years
DJ Ashba was born Daren Jay Ashba on November 10th 1972, in Monticello, Indiana, USA. He was raised in Fairbury, Illinois, with his parents, whose identities remain undisclosed. His mother was a classically educated pianist who began teaching him music from a young age. His first piano recital took place at the age of five, where he played Ode to Joy.
At just six years old, he crafted a drum set from garbage bins, pots, and pans, and later received a real drum kit. By the age of eight, he was employed on a farm to save for a guitar, learning to play from a man he encountered during bus rides to the farm. At 16, his father took him to Mötley Crüe’s Girls, Girls, Girls Tour, igniting his desire to pursue a career as a performer. At 18, he moved to Hollywood to start his journey.

DJ Ashba began his career with a band called Barracuda and toured with them for two years. In 1996, he unveiled his first instrumental album, titled Addiction to the Friction.
In 1998, he collaborated with BulletBoys as part of the band’s new composition. During this period, he met Joe Lesté from Bang Tango. In 1999, he departed from the group to create a new band with Lesté.
