Tiwa Savage was given the name Tiwatope Savage when she was born over forty years ago in Ikeja, the capital city of Lagos State, Nigeria.
She moved to London at the age of 11 to complete her secondary education. Five years later, she launched her music career by providing backup vocals for artists like George Michael and Mary J. Blige.
