Tragic Incident: Jigawa Delegate Collapses and Passes Away at APC Presidential Primary in Abuja

A representative from Jigawa State, Alhaji Isah Baba Buji, has collapsed and died while taking part in the presidential primary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abuja. The deceased Assistant APC chairman in charge of Jigawa central zone is thought to have succumbed to cardiac failure on Tuesday morning at the Jigawa State Liaison Office in Abuja. As reported by The Nation, Buji fainted while getting ready to head to Eagle Square, the venue of the primary along with other representatives from the State. In a bid to enhance healthcare services in Nigeria, the federal government of Nigeria has initiated an assessment of the advancements made in revitalizing Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) at both national and state levels. The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Dangote Foundation collaborated on this initiative, which aimed to conduct a peer evaluation of the infrastructure and resource allocation at all of the nation’s primary healthcare centers.
