Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu CON SAN, a Nigerian politician and attorney, was born on July 21, 1956, and left this world on December 27, 2023, after an extended battle with leukemia. He served as the governor of Ondo State from 24 February 2017 until 27 December 2023. In 2008, he advanced from his role as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association. Furthermore, Akeredolu was the Managing Partner of Olujinmi & Akeredolu, a legal firm he co-established with Chief Akin Olujinmi, a past Nigerian Attorney General and Minister for Justice. Lassa Fever kills 50 people in Ondo

News reports have revealed wide spread panic in Ondo State after 50 deaths were recorded over Lassa Fever in the state. According to the reports, the residents of the state as well as the medical practitioners are worried. Recall that a resurfacing of the endemic disease had been reported by NAIJATAB weeks ago. The disease has now found its way to Akure, Ondo State, shortly after reports of the disease breaking out in the towns bordering the state. Sources at the Federal Medical Center, FMC, Owo, have revealed that the state government is not doing enough to curb the spread of the disease. 32 persons kidnapped in Ondo State

Unknown assailants have allegedly kidnapped 32 individuals in Ondo state. The victims were reportedly on their way back from a funeral service in Benin City, Edo State over the weekend when the occurrence took place; they were ambushed by the assailants while traveling in a Coaster bus. Meanwhile, officials from the Amotekun Corps have promptly initiated a search of the Benin-Ifon to Owo woodland for the abducted individuals. Adetunji Adeleye, the Commandant of the corps in the state, validated the occurrence and stated that the command would exhaust all measures to save the victims. To secure the release of the victims, the Amotekun Corps along with other security agencies, as stated by Adeleye, had been notified and have since launched a search and rescue operation.
