Ekiti’s Thrilling Victory: Oyebanji Takes the Governorship Crown!
Flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abiodun Oyebanji has been declared the winner of the Ekiti State gubernatorial election.
Oyebanji obtained a total of 187,057 votes to outpace his closest rival, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party, who received 82,211 ballots, while Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) obtained 67,457 votes.
The APC candidate emerged victorious in 15 of the 16 Local Government Areas within the State.
The election's returning officer, Professor Kayode Oyebode, announced Oyebanji as the winner at 3:04 am on Sunday.
The total valid votes in the election were 351,865, while invalid votes counted at 8,888, leading to a total of 360,753 votes cast.
