The gubernatorial aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abiodun Oyebanji, has triumphed in his initial Polling Unit during the ongoing Ekiti State gubernatorial election. The APC achieved victory at polling unit 10, ward 10, Afao/Kajola, with Oyebanji garnering 20 votes to surpass the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Bisi Kolawole, who received only two votes. The representative of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Segun Oni, along with candidates from other parties, did not secure any votes in this polling unit. Oyebanji wins Ekiti governorship election

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abiodun Oyebanji, has been announced as the victor of the Ekiti State gubernatorial election. Oyebanji secured a total of 187,057 ballots to surpass his nearest contender, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party, who garnered 82,211 votes, while Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 67,457 votes. The APC candidate triumphed in 15 out of the 16 Local Government Areas of the State. The election's returning officer, Professor Kayode Oyebode, proclaimed Oyebanji the winner at 3:04am on Sunday. The overall valid votes in the election amounted to 351,865, invalid votes stood at 8,888, and the total votes cast reached 360,753.
