The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has charged a former Senior Special Assistant to the erstwhile president, Goodluck Jonathan, with a 59-count indictment relating to "money laundering and illicit diversion of funds" amounting to N702,000,000 (Seven Hundred and Two Million Naira) alone. The Department of State Services has arrested the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, over allegations that he owns four properties and that he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party.
