Armed soldiers invade Daily Trust office in Abuja

Armed military personnel, on Sunday, invaded the headquarters of Daily Trust newspaper in Jabi area of Abuja, carting away computers, laptops and other gadgets from the newsroom. According to Punch Newspaper, the intent of the action remains uncoewrt although it was gathered the incident might be connected with the lead story of Daily Trust on Sunday on military operations in the North East. The paper had reported that the Nigerian military is making plans to reclaim Baga and other communities taken over by Boko Haram some weeks ago. The military authorities had earlier claimed that no territory was being occupied by the insurgents. BREAKING: Jigawa delegate slumps, dies while attending APC presidential primary in Abuja

A delegate from Jigawa State, Alhaji Isah Baba Buji, has collapsed and passed away while participating in the presidential primary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abuja. The late Assistant APC chairman responsible for Jigawa central zone is believed to have succumbed to heart failure on Tuesday morning at the Jigawa State Liaison Office in Abuja. As reported by The Nation, Buji collapsed while preparing to proceed to Eagle Square, the location of the primary alongside other delegates from the State. Governors elected under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have further narrowed down the roster of intended presidential candidates to three at the ongoing National Convention in Abuja. NAIJATAB NEWS had previously disclosed that APC governors submitted a five-member list of candidates from the southern region to President Muhammadu Buhari for evaluation. The Sterling Law Centre has criticized the Department of Security Service for purportedly inhumane treatment of one Patrick Okachi, a janitor at the Statement Hotel in Abuja.
