Shaquille O’Neal was selected as the first overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA draft. During his initial week, he earned the Player of the Week title. In his first season, he recorded 3.5 blocks, 13.9 rebounds, and averaged 23.4 points per game. He further increased his scoring to an average of 29.4 points per game in his second season.
In the 1994-95 season, he managed to score 29.3 points per match. However, he missed 28 games during the 1995-96 season. He subsequently became a free agent and represented his country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where O’Neal was part of the gold medal-winning squad.
