Police to apprehend expelled Igbinedion students following viral bullying footage

The Nigeria Police Force, Edo State Police Command, states it has initiated an extensive investigation into the purported harassment incident at the Igbinedion Secondary School.

NAIJATAB reports that a circulated video recorded a scenario where two students assaulted a peer on the school grounds.

A few days following the video’s circulation, the institution’s administration announced the expulsion of the two offending students.

Nonetheless, a statement released on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer of Edo State, ASP Eno Ikoedem indicated that despite the expulsions, the police have begun a thorough examination of the issue.

“The Command wants to reassure the public that the individuals involved in the harassment incident will be apprehended and held accountable in accordance with their respective ages and the legal provisions.”

“The Edo State Police Command firmly denounces any acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found guilty will be prosecuted in accordance with the law,” the statement continued.
