She gained national recognition after winning Big Brother Naija Season 7 (Level Up edition) in 2022. Born on June 2, 1997, Phyna is a member of the Otabor family. Although her birthplace is Lagos State, her roots trace back to Auchi in Edo State, South-South Nigeria. Ultimately, she triumphed in the competition with 40.74% of the final votes, surpassing Bryann, who received 26.74%.
Her victory included a ₦100 million reward, encompassing ₦50 million in cash and ₦50 million in prizes. Phyna became the second female winner of BBNaija, following Mercy Eke.
Acting Career
After her BBNaija experience, Phyna transitioned into Nollywood. Her inaugural film “Last Man Standing” debuted on YouTube and featured notable personalities like Boma Akpore, Savior “Pharmsavi” Akpan, and Oluwadolarz. Directed by Moyin Ezekiel, Phyna described the film as her “initiation” into the movie realm.
She has also contributed to films like “Osato” and “Unholy Saint,” further enhancing her acting repertoire.

Phyna has encountered her share of public controversies. In one instance, she alleged that the Big Brother Naija organizers failed to provide her full prize, particularly a 1 BTC crypto reward.
