Paul Dini was welcomed into the world in New York City, as the child of Patricia (McClaran) and advertising professional Robert Dini. He has Italian heritage through his father. Dini was awarded an art scholarship to enroll at Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. He obtained his BFA in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston.
