Mysterious Armed Assailants Abduct Four in Ibadan



Four individuals have been kidnapped by unidentified assailants at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, CRIN, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The occurrence transpired on Wednesday.

The research facility is situated in the Oluyole local government region of Oyo State.

It was disclosed that the armed individuals invaded the nursery segment of the research institute and abducted several persons.

The Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, verified the event.

Ayanlade, in a statement provided to NAIJATAB, stated that one of the four captives has been freed.

He mentioned that endeavors are ongoing to rescue the other victims and apprehend the assailants.

“One of the four abducted individuals has been successfully freed, and his vehicle retrieved.

“In the meantime, the Commissioner of Police has instructed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, along with other tactical units, to bolster the Divisional Police Officer, Idi-Ayunre Division, and other personnel in an active comprehensive bush-search operation.

“The rescued individual is currently in protective custody and undergoing debriefing.

“Efforts are underway to secure the remaining captive and detain the criminals,” Ayanlade remarked.
