Before venturing into filmmaking, Kazim Adeoti originally embarked on Business Studies at Kwara State Polytechnic intending to advance to the University of Jos to specialize in Business Management around the same period.

He accepted the latter option, and upon completing his examinations, he moved to the U.S. in 2001, where he became a mortgage broker for a decade. A year later, he wed his wife and the mother of his four children, Oluwafunsho Asiwaju.

Before making his entry into the Yoruba film space, Kazim Adeoti had always preferred filmmaking and entertainment. Hence, he studied the operational models of prominent Yoruba film moguls, Wasiu Afolayan, Chairman of Wasai Film, and Kazeem Afolayan of Epsalum Production.

The two men were close friends, and through this connection, he was introduced to key figures in the Yoruba film sector.

By 2005, he registered his company, Adekaz Production Limited, and shot his debut film ‘Ona Laafin‘, produced by Jaiye Kuti, the following year.

Mercy Aigbe: Scandals

Like Prince Kpokpogri, Tonto Dikeh’s estranged partner, Kazim Adeoti, a previously low-profile businessman, has been thrust into the limelight.

He will have to adjust to the newfound attention coming from his wife’s admirers and eager spectators. He rarely seeks the spotlight, but in a rare interview with TheCityCeleb, he shared the challenges he overcame while trying to find his footing in Nigeria.

Having ventured into real estate in America, he stated that he acquired several homes on a mortgage and collected rents monthly as a contingency.

Upon returning to Nigeria, he encountered numerous difficulties which left him financially troubled.

Kazim Adeoti said:

”I was forced to return to sell one of my properties. The turning point was because the funds worked in my favor, which should have taken years. I recovered it swiftly because I was determined to achieve the best. I invested a substantial amount. However, I found myself broke again due to the widespread impact.

“But when I returned quickly, I understood the business much better than before, and consequently, I was excelling.”

The astute businessman has built a strong foundation and has captured the hearts of some of the most significant contributors to the Yoruba film scene.
