Nigerian gospel musician Judikay has revealed her experience of enduring six miscarriages, disclosing that the latest took place in February 2025.
In a clip posted on her Instagram account, the vocalist spoke openly about the physical agony and emotional distress she endured following the loss, which transpired after she had surpassed the three-month mark of her pregnancy.
Describing her ordeal, she detailed how what initially felt like mild discomfort rapidly escalated into a heartrending experience.
“In February 2025, I encountered a pain that nearly overwhelmed me. I had been pregnant for well over three months. One day, I was going about my daily routine when I started feeling cramps,” she explained.
“I thought, ‘Oh, okay, it was just one of those moments.’ Then I noticed some blood, and I thought, ‘Oh, spotting.’ If you are a woman who has been pregnant previously, you will understand what spotting means.
“Then I felt the need to use the restroom. What I anticipated to be urine was actually blood. It did not cease. It continued to flow. And I was shattered because I instantly knew what that meant.
“This baby that I lost, having surpassed three months, marks the sixth one.”
She shared that she was taken to the hospital, where medical professionals performed a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure after diagnosing what was termed as a missed miscarriage.
Reflecting on the consequences, Judikay mentioned that she initially attempted to remain strong but later grappled with profound sorrow, especially during the evenings.
“I was hurried to the hospital, and they conducted a D&C on me due to the missed miscarriage,” she added.
“When I returned home, I believed I was fine. I had wept and screamed while they retrieved the baby and brought forth the remains.
“Everyone would inquire, and I would respond that God deserves the praise.
“Yet in the stillness of the night, I would face a pain that I couldn’t articulate. I would lament and weep, calling out, ‘Jesus, where are you?’”
Renowned for hit worship tracks like “More Than Gold” and “Songs of Angel: Ndimozi Binigwe,” Judikay tied the knot with Anselem Opara in 2020, and the couple welcomed their first child in 2022.
