Over the subsequent years, his performance significantly improved, earning him a spot on the Western Conference All-Star team in 1994, 1995, and 1997.
His reputation began to decline when he assaulted the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, P. J. Carlesimo, during a practice session. Sprewell was provoked by certain remarks made by the coach.
