
The Kebbi State Administration has established a dedicated committee to look into the demise of two minors at General Hospital, Zuru.
This development was made public in a bulletin released on Thursday by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations to the Kebbi State Governor.
Governor Nasir Idris sanctioned the committee to investigate the conditions surrounding the event involving the two minors, who were said to belong to the same household.
As stated, the committee is led by the Commissioner for Information, Yakubu Ahmed, with the Commissioners for Health and Establishment, Sama’ila Augie and Manu Dogondaji, acting as members.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Zaki Abubakar Zaki, will undertake the role of secretary.
The panel is anticipated to explore the immediate and distant factors contributing to the fatalities, including claims that the minors might have received an improper injection.
It will also pinpoint individuals associated with the event, ascertain accountability where needed, and propose strategies to avert a recurrence.
The committee has been allotted one week to present its findings and has been instructed to begin its efforts without delay.
