All Progressives Congress leaders, Ardo Zubariu and Chinsom Nwakanma, stated that the involvement of Igbos in the nation’s capital significantly contributed to the triumph of the ruling party in the February 21 Federal Capital Territory Council election.
APC leaders Zubariu and Nwakanma released a joint statement on Saturday.
They asserted that it would have been unfeasible for APC to secure victories in five area council chairmanship elections without the substantial backing of the Igbo community in Abuja.
They commended the leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for rallying residents to cast their votes for APC.
“We genuinely thank the South-East inhabitants in the FCT for supporting the Deputy Speaker and endorsing APC candidates during the election. Their unity and engagement played a crucial role in the achievements gained by the party,” Zubariu and Nwakanma, who also serve as leaders of the APC Integrity Group, expressed.
NAIJATAB reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission announced APC candidates as victors of AMAC, Bwari, Kuje, Kwali, and Abaji chairmanship positions, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance secured Gwagwalada.
