Delta Mobile Court Finds 16 Guilty and Issues Warrants for 12 Over Environmental Sanitation Violations

Committed to guaranteeing that Asaba Capital Territory remains ecologically sustainable, the Mobile Court of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, DSCTDA, has found 16 environmental violators guilty of breaching environmental sanitation regulations within the capital territory.

The violators were prosecuted by the Head of Environment at DSCTDA, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, who spearheaded the enforcement initiative against individuals and establishments identified as infringing upon environmental statutes within the capital territory.

The court session also absolved four defendants after examining their cases, while bench warrants were issued for 12 violators who failed to appear in court to respond to the charges brought against them.

Among the cases brought to trial was Chuzz4 Apartment and Suites, which faced allegations of releasing wastewater into a public drainage system, an act deemed a breach of environmental regulations and a danger to public health and sanitation.

Commenting on the situation, the Director-General of DSCTDA, Mr. Patrick Ukah, reiterated the agency’s dedication to enforcing environmental regulations and upholding a clean and healthy capital territory.

Ukah cautioned that individuals and entities who contravene environmental regulations, including improper disposal of wastewater and waste materials, will continue to face legal action.

He additionally urged residents, business proprietors, and property managers to adhere to environmental statutes, emphasizing that the agency will maintain its enforcement efforts to ensure that the capital territory remains organized and ecologically sound.
