On Monday, China’s meteorological authority issued a blue alert for a cold front, predicting considerable temperature declines and strong winds across much of the nation’s central and eastern areas.
It is anticipated that temperatures will decrease by 12 to 14 degrees Celsius in certain regions of northeast China, south of the Yangtze River, and in southern China from Monday morning to Wednesday morning, according to the National Meteorological Centre on Monday.
Some areas of Jilin could experience temperature reductions exceeding 16 degrees Celsius.
Strong winds are expected to affect the previously mentioned regions, stated the centre.
The centre cautioned about the cold front’s effects on agriculture and recommended the public to take measures against both the temperature fluctuations and the winds.
China employs a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system, with red indicating the most serious weather, followed by orange, yellow, and blue. (Xinhua/NAN)
