“Trial Date Set to Block My Participation in Aba Protest, Claims Sowore”
Human rights advocate and previous presidential contender, Omoyele Sowore, has asserted that his trial was intentionally scheduled for the same day as a forthcoming demonstration in Aba to hinder his participation in the rally.
Sowore conveyed this assertion in a post shared on his verified X account on Friday, where he detailed the situation surrounding his absence from the court session involving the Department of State Services (DSS).
As per his account, when he and his legal representatives reached the Federal High Court on March 5, 2026, the presiding judge was unavailable.
“Upon our arrival at the Federal High Court on March 5, 2026, the judge was missing, and his registrar set March 24 as the subsequent date,” he stated.
